Air Algerie is an airline that was founded in Algeria in 1947 as Société Algérienne de Construction Aéronautique - Air Algérie. Today, it is the third largest airline in Africa. The airline operates flights from its headquarters at Algiers Airport to many destinations in North Africa and Algeria. Additionally, Air Algerie offers flights to Europe, Asia, and North America. Some destinations in Central Europe include Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, and Geneva.

Other destinations such as Marseille, Paris, Bechar, Barcelona, Beirut, and Amman are accessible from German airports. The airline operates a fleet of approximately 50 aircraft, employs around 8,500 staff worldwide, and carries approximately 3.5 million passengers annually. Air Algerie has close cooperation and codeshare agreements with airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Air China, Korean Air, Alitalia, and Air Canada. Air Algerie Online Check-in

The online check-in, which is preferred by many passengers nowadays, is also available for flights with Air Algerie. This service allows you to avoid waiting times at the airport or check-in counters. If you don't have access to Air Algerie's online check-in service, you can use self-service kiosks at many airports to print your boarding pass yourself. After passing through security checks and baggage drop-off, you can proceed directly to the gate and board the aircraft. Online check-in is available in conjunction with seat selection from 24 to 3 hours before the flight.

Air Algerie Hand Luggage

When flying with Air Algerie, generally, one piece of hand luggage per passenger is allowed in the aircraft cabin. However, the weight of the hand luggage must not exceed 10 kg (5 kg for ATR flights). Items such as a camera, a handbag, or a laptop should be stowed in this piece of hand luggage and not carried additionally, as is the case with some other airlines. The dimensions of the hand luggage must not exceed 35 x 55 x 25 cm in all ticket classes. Passengers who require special assistance should check in advance if such support is available.

Air Algerie Baggage

The airline employs complex rules for checked baggage included in the ticket price. The maximum weight per piece of baggage is 32 kg, and the overall dimensions must not exceed 158 cm. For domestic flights, the allowed baggage weight is 20 kg in Economy Class, 30 kg in Business Class, and 40 kg in First Class.

For international flights operated by Air Algerie to France, Tunisia, Morocco, Europe, and Libya, the allowed baggage weight is 30 kg in Economy Class and 40 kg in Business and First Class. However, Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates are exceptions. For direct flights within Africa (except Libya), 40 kg of baggage is allowed. For flights to Canada and China, Economy Class includes two standard baggage pieces, and Business and First Class include three standard baggage pieces, each weighing a maximum of 23 kg, in the ticket price.
